Tom holds a BSc in Engineering from Egerton University and has an MBA in Strategic Management from Moi University Kenya. He undertook the executive leadership programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria, between 2010-2011. Between 2000 and 2005 Tom worked as a plant engineer in a pulp and paper manufacturing company in Western Kenya, having joined as a graduate trainee. He joined Kenya Airways in 2006 as a GSE Maintenance Controller and rose to the role of Manager in charge of GSE maintenance and ULD control in 2008. He was appointed Head of Ramp Services in 2012, a position that he has held to date.
